My second rock material, and maybe sixth or seventh substance to date. I've spent a lot of time collecting and studying images of rocky, highland terrain starting with my Dragon Escort set of illustrations. It was only natural to try and produce my own granite rock face to use in scenes with such an environment. Scotland, Ireland and Wales are the inspirations for the places my protagonist grew up in, in Child of Paradox. It's taking longer to get that story off the ground, but it's still on my to-do list. I'm not even finished with this rock, yet. So far, this substance only has dust, dirt and water added. I'm thinking of adding lichen, moss and bits of grit and grunge to round it out. I'll also set up the MDL for Iray. So, lots to do.
Edit 1: Added the MDL/Iray render. I was not able to match my first camera angle, but came across one I liked enough to use.
Edit 2: I figured out why I could not find my original view; the random seed in the PBR material was embedded in the MDL. So, when I tried to match the settings (couldn't just load the preset I saved), I doubled-up on the random seed.
