This is one of the best results I've gotten from my photopainting technique. I've been a fan of Kate Beckinsale since Underworld, so this picture caught my eye and I originally intended to find a way to scale the image up. In the process I perfected a way to increase the image resolution that produces a nice, painted quality. Photoshop provides a number of tools and filters designed to convert a photograph into a painting. The difficult part is finding ways to achieve a painted look without destroying critical details or introducing unwanted digital artifacts. To develop my own technique, I selected a couple of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies, Underworld II.
Update: In response to Angel Ganev's question, I did a quick search for the original photo from the first photopaint I did. To my pleasure, I found a better source image. I ran it through the same process in about an hour so I could post a comparison. I hope you like!
