Another moss, and from the bit of research I did, the same species as my first; commonly known as Cushion Moss or White Moss. It's found in wet forest and swampy regions--in at least three parts of North America. Other regions were not mentioned in the snippets I found, but I'm sure you can find it in a lot of places. I also referenced the moss substance breakdown by Rosen Kazlachev (see link below). This is a type of moss you can find growing on granite, so I'm going in the right direction, even if this particular version may not fit my granite substance. I think I've picked up enough practice and reference material to make what I'll need soon.
