Asteroid Ring

It's been a while since I started this piece, beginning with a new approach to making asteroids, last January. A bit later, in September, I decided to try a few new things for making a terrestrial planet. I used satellite cloud imagery on this one, and a different atmospheric finishing approach. The planet and asteroids had both been sitting on my hard drive, and some whim made me open those files today. As a result, I spent the day finishing this up.

I believe that this shows some improvement over my previous space art, so I am putting it up for critique. I appreciate the sharp eyes and experience of other space artists on dA; I learn more when I have experts picking my work apart!
