While my main computer has been out of commission, I have been experimenting with World Machine on my other laptop. I recently came across a tutorial on making fantasy world maps () and decided to apply some more advanced techniques to see if I could improve on it. What I've come up with is good for continent scale world maps. A true world map would need spherical mapping (equirectangular projection) which can't be done (as yet) in World Machine. I might be able to get around that if I start my noise in Substance Designer or Filter Forge, but that's an experiment for later.
